a

Municipality of Ipil’s very own Buluan Island of Zamboanga Sibugay province is catapulting to fame after being recognized not only by the local people, but also by the entire nation and the world.

After consistently awarded as one of the best managed Marine Protected Area, in 2013, Buluan Island placed second nation-wide, next to island of Tabina in Zamboanga del Sur, and is a recipient of Rare, an international organization on environmental preservation and conservation.

Recently, Miss Philippines Earth beauty queens blazed the said island and done their part as the country’s ambassadors of environmental preservation, in partnership with the Ipil Pride Campaign of the Local Government Unit, spearheaded by Mayor Eldwin M. Alibutdan.

On the fourth of April, 2014, Buluan Island was featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, a well-known newspaper in the country.

This year, the island’s visits reached more than 4,000, based from the number of visitors in the island’s log book.

Aside from the beach’s pristine-white sand, the rock formations and the romantic sunset, Snorkeling is one of the major attractions that can be enjoyed in the island. Come, experience Buluan island!  Jemima
